Performance Coatings Inc. Facility
The Performance Coatings Inc (PCI) manufacturing facility is located in Ukiah in beautiful Northern California.
In March of 1989, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors approved a plan by PCI to construct a 17,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Local contractors were used for the majority of the work, and the facility received its occupancy permit in March of 1991.
Manufacturing operations at PCI involve the mixing and blending of solvents, pigments, and other additives to form Penofin®. No chemical reactions are involved. Penofin is formed in batch operations. A high degree of computer control or tracking is used for both finished goods and raw materials. After mixing, batches are quality-control tested and
packaged, generally in five-gallon, one-gallon, or smaller containers. Raw materials are received by tank truck, in drums or pails, or (dry materials) in bags. Bulk materials are stored in aboveground tanks. All incoming raw materials are quality-control tested at the time of delivery to insure their adherence to PCI specifications.
