Corporate Achievements

Named to the Inc. Magazine list of the 500 fastest-growing, privately held companies in America for three consecutive years beginning in 1986; Performance Coatings Inc. was also named the fastest-growing paint company in America.

In a foreword to the list, the editors of Inc. 500 stated, "These companies are the entrepreneurial driving force of America's new competitive economy." The Inc. 500 list is published yearly by Inc. Magazine. To qualify for inclusion in this elite entrepreneurial group, a company must be independent and privately held. The rankings are based on the percentage increase in sales during a five-year period. During the base year, sales must have been between $100 thousand and $25 million. And during the fifth year, sales must have been greater than the year before.

In 1988, PCI was honored by Inc. Magazine for being one of only eight companies to make the list three years in a row.

In 1994, PCI was listed in Chemical Week magazine as a "Hot Prospect." This distinction goes to small, fast-growing entrepreneurial firms with sales under $100 million. In 1994, Ms. Newell was awarded the Women in Coatings Leadership Award at the annual meeting of the National Paint & Coatings Association in New Orleans.

In 1995 and 1996, PCI made Paint and Coatings Industry magazine's top 100 list. The list ranks the top 100 paint companies in America.
